Well well! It’s hard to believe it’s been 4 years since we started our first Manchester Rubbermen social! Our humble little group inspired by the Chicago Rubbermen has thrived and done so well at growing a bit of community spirit in the fetish world that we’ve inspired the London Rubbermen and Antwerp Rubbermen to be born too!
So it’s time to get some candles out and blow them and celebrate the our 4th Birthday we have two nights of rubber goodness!

Fri 22nd – Alert Rubber Special – Alter ego – 11PM
Sat 23rd March – Slick – Black Eagle – 10PM

Friday – Starting with pre drinks (TBC) any rubber boys that come out before Alert will get a stamp for discounted entry into Alert! Alert is a rubber special* and those that rubber up will be in with a chance of winning some free gear courtesy of Invincible and RoB London!

Saturday – A New dress code* night “Slick” in the Black Eagle based on the success that was the Rubbermen’s 3rd birthday last year, a bit more social and a bit more playful, we’ll have sleep sacks, straight jackets and other demos to mess about with. A boot polish station and yet again even more rubber to give away from the kind Invincible boys and including a full made to measure rubber suit for one lucky boy from RoB London, just for showing up in rubber! You’ll be a fool to miss out. No door charge, so don’t miss out on this chance, even if you’re new just borrow some gear off a mate and you might be walking away with a made to measure catsuit! INSANITY I TELL THEE!

Well well well. So, I spend more time on Youtube than I do watching TV shows these days. I love the mix of ridiculous pets, comedy sketches, rap battles, genius little moments of creative genius and having a giggle at some truly awful attempts at music videos, but once in a while something pops up that baffles you. This little bizarre gem is brought to us by August Schram, a genuinely talented operatic tenor and well… just watch it. I really love it, it’s beautifully made, it’s humorously creepy, and there seems to be no ‘why’ it’s not an advertising campaign that I can see, there’s no punch line, it just… is! Enjoy! And then watch the making of!

So there’s a million and one ways to keep in touch on line these days and while I’m still figuring out what I want for my fetish art website I thought I’d climb aboard the Tumblr band wagon since it’s so easy and slick and I’ll be putting regular pics up for those of you who want to have a look at my work.
You don’t even have to be a member to tumblr to look, and if you do join you don’t have to post anything, you can just pick the streams you like and unlike facebook with all it’s social etiquette you can just have a feed of all the pics you say you like! Fresh food for thought all the time! I’m loving the site! So sneak a look!

I met this lovely french perv Pierre while in Amsterdam last week at Mr Rubber Netherlands. Not only is he friendly with a swoonerific smile which is a winning combination, he actually made that suit himself! And it was epic! Everyone was very jealous and he certainly won the award for best dressed! Only 24 and making this quality of gear already, and it’s purely for his own fun, but I’m sure there will be a queue if he decides to start selling some. Today’s lovely specimen Dolf hails from the gay mecca that is Provincetown, Cape Cod, Massachusetts. The pilgrims actually landed at P-Town first accidentally before moving onto Plymouth, apparently the Native Wompanog indians were having Leather Mates week but the Pilgrims were more into rubber so said they’d come back later. At least that’s what I think is engraved on the P-Town monument. Oink!

Well if you’ve ever fancied seeing what the title holder malarky is all about then october is the month for it! With Mr Rubber Netherlands and Mr Rubber Berlin this weekend and Mr Hoist Rubber in London and Mr American Rubber in NY it’s all go for the next years class of title holders. And it’s a big month for the leather scene too with my Kilker entering Mr Leather Europe this month too!

I always get asked what it’s about, sure we get the history really does stem from the Miss World sash idea, so to some it’s all a bit camp and silly, but what started as leather sashes in leather bars, just picking their hottest local for some fun, it’s now grown into an institution in itself.

The evolution of these contests has become far more prestigious, while all the contests vary in scale and grandeur they essentially boil down as a good excuse to get together in our little niche gay fetish world, have a focal point of these nights and weekends and pick someone that will act as our champion. Getting out there, not to create world peace but just get people seeing and talking about the fetish community, spreading a bit of Rubber/Leather pride and being a role model for the younger kinksters.

Us title holders don’t have any special powers or think we’re any better, I know I certainly don’t. Certian crowds have a little stigma over the “sash circuit” but at the end of the day, it’s just a good reason to celebrate out little community and have some fun. It can be a busy year trying to get to all these events so it’s just a natural thing to pass on the torch after a year and cheer for the next torch bearer so they can keep the community excited and involved, that’s all it is.

So regardless of how ripped or how much gear you have, if being a torch bearer sounds like a bit of an adventure, you’re passionate about seeing our kink community grow and you’re up for some fun, smiling and having a bit of fun on stage for the entertainment of others, then why not give it a go? It’s not for everyone but it’s sure as hell been one hell of an adventure!
Congrats to Tony and Tommy on their step downs it’s been a privilege to make some new friends and share some adventures with this year as title brothers! And good luck to both of them in MIR next month!

Well this will be a way to end my title year! I don’t think I’ve ever been to a big club night on my actual birthday before, especially not a kinky night! I know I know, I’m an old woman, I’m usually with family or there’s some straight mates there in amongst the gay pigeons, but this year my last big event as MIR in the UK will be my actual birthday! Went a few years ago and it was excellent so get on down y’all!

I know, I know I’ve been a busy and/or lazy boy over the summer so much to tell you all about but this is just a quick one to keep everyone in the know about Manchester Pride this weekend! Loads of boys gonna be in town and amid the usual village entertainment including Steps (haha) there’s so much to gear up for as well! Three nights of fetish clubs and the kinky community are all coming together for one big float in the famous parade! Would be great to have more of you along in the parade (you can always wear a hat, shades or a mask if you want to be discreet!). Email Martin if you want to join in the parade. What can I say, I have a vested interest in these boys. They’re, both locals, I sold Ste his gear when I worked at Rob and Alwyn wanted to borrow some gear for Full Fetish, so who’s gonna say no to seeing him in rubber? Can’t help but feel like a proud father, having played a little part in a thing of beauty haha!
